If you’ve never heard of mousse made with avocados, just hang with me for a second. I know it sounds weird – or maybe even gross – but I promise it’s not. It’s actually delicious. Give this chocolate avocado mousse a try and let me make you into a believer.
Avocados are great for a number of reasons. First off, they’re delicious. Have you had avocado toast before? Or guacamole? Point proven. But besides that, they’re actually super nutritious too.
Avocados are packed with healthy fats – more specifically, monounsaturated fats. These fats are incredibly beneficial for heart health. Moreover, they have a hefty dose of fiber. In one cup of sliced avocado, you’ll find 10 grams of fiber! Fiber is so necessary for healthy digestion.
Avocados are also great for a vitamin and mineral boost. In the same serving size, you’ll find 24% of the recommended intake of vitamin C, 20% of B-6, and 10% magnesium.
Are you sold on avocados yet?? Moral of the story – you should be getting avos in your mouth quite often. And this chocolate mousse is a sweet way to do it!
On top of the greatness of the humble avocado, this recipe just couldn’t be simpler. All you have to do is throw all the ingredients into a blender and whiz it up until it’s creamy.
Once it’s reached your desired consistency, you can serve immediately. Or if you’d like it to be a bit chilled, you can do that too. Just stick it in the fridge for a bit. I like to dish it up in cute little ramekins or small bowls and garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top.

Chocolate Avocado Mousse
You’ll never know that the rich and creamy mousse you’re eating is actually made of avocados. That means you get nutrients and good fats while also satisfying your sweet tooth.
- 2 ripe avocados pitted and peeled
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons almond milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 cup honey
Put all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor and process until smooth and creamy.
