Regenerative agriculture - have you ever heard of this before?
One of the biggest privileges of having this platform that I do is that I can share things that interest me with all of you. Food and nutrition are both topics that I love sharing. And I would say that I’m adequately qualified to do so. With a Master’s degree in nutrition and years of experience in the field, I feel like I can confidently share my knowledge with the readers of this site.
That being said, I definitely don’t claim to be an expert at everything. But some things I find to be worth talking about even if I might not be one of the top-level experts in the ...

Pumpkin Spiced Granola
Technically it's not pumpkin-spice season, but who cares? This pumpkin spiced paleo granola is so good you won't care that it's the end of January. And what's better? You probably have all of these ingredients in your pantry.
If you've never made homemade granola, oooh..let me tell you what. It is so much better than store-bought. Like, there's not even a comparison. It's way tastier, I promise.
The other great thing about making it at home is that you can control the ingredients that go into it. So everything you put into it - you can feel good about. And anything that you choose not to eat doesn't have to be in there.
That's the ...

Roasted Broccoli and Brussels Sprouts
We're about three weeks into 2020. How's your resolution holding up so far? Hopefully you're still going strong and instilling good habits (whatever those may be for you...) for the coming years.
The gym that I coach at is currently doing the #800gChallenge. Basically, this challenge is all about eating your fruits and veggies. For 30 days, your goal is to eat 800 grams of fruits and vegetables a day.
These can be anything you want. They can be raw carrots, cooked apples, frozen berries, spinach leaves, etc. As long as they are a real fruit or vegetable, they count towards your 800 grams.
We've been doing it for a week now, and ...

I love this recipe because it's so satisfying to me in multiple ways. Yes, it obviously tastes delicious. It's warm and sweetly spiced and tastes just like apple pie filling. A little soft, a little crunchy with that golden brown topping.

A Nutritionist’s Guide On How To Not Be Hungry
I've been working as a nutrition coach for over three years now. Of course, everyone comes to me from different backgrounds and with different goals. But more often that not, I get the same question. People want to know how to not be hungry all the time.
My number one goal when working with anyone is to help them find the joy in food. Part of that includes...actually eating food! And it makes me sad to say that, in general, people aren't eating enough.
Or - in other cases - their caloric intake is really high, but the actual nutrients they're consuming is really low. This is usually due to the fact that their diet is made up of the ...

Lamb and Root Vegetable Stew
If you're not used to cooking with lamb, this is a great recipe to introduce you to a new protein source. This lamb and root vegetable stew is hearty and full of chunky vegetables, rich with flavor, full of good fat and antioxidants, and most importantly delicious.
I am from the Midwest which means that "meat and potatoes" is basically its own food group. This recipe 100% falls into that category - but with a more sophisticated twist. And I have to say, I think it would even please the pickiest of my family members.
Instead of your usual white potatoes, this recipe takes it up a notch with lots of root veggies. Specifically, we've ...

Breakfast Stir Fry Scramble
What's easier than a stir-fry? When it comes to breakfast, at least, I can't think of much. If you have a bunch of vegetables that you need to use up before they go bad, a stir fry is the way to do it. This breakfast stir-fry uses riced cauliflower, carrots, bok choy, and green onions.
Riced cauliflower is so easy. And, if you're a traditional rice lover, like myself, it makes a worthy substitute.
Of course, you can rice your own cauliflower using a food processor. All you have to do is chop a head of cauliflower into florets. Then, put the florets into a food processor and whiz it up into rice-sized pellets.
But, who am I joking? ...

Chocolate Avocado Mousse
If you've never heard of mousse made with avocados, just hang with me for a second. I know it sounds weird - or maybe even gross - but I promise it's not. It's actually delicious. Give this chocolate avocado mousse a try and let me make you into a believer.
Avocados are great for a number of reasons. First off, they're delicious. Have you had avocado toast before? Or guacamole? Point proven. But besides that, they're actually super nutritious too.
Avocados are packed with healthy fats - more specifically, monounsaturated fats. These fats are incredibly beneficial for heart health. Moreover, they have a hefty dose of fiber. In one cup ...
