Ice cream – who doesn’t love it? As we enter the dog days of summer, sometimes you just want a cold, creamy treat that takes you back to childhood. But, the original dessert, 100% dairy and packed full of sugar, isn’t the healthiest option.
Don’t give up hope! This strawberry grapefruit version is sweet and tart, and full of healthy ingredients. Just because you want to eat healthy doesn’t mean you can’t have a treat now and then. Strawberry and grapefruit may not be the first flavor combination you think of, but give this refreshing combo a chance.
With banana and coconut milk, this dairy free alternative is as creamy as can be. Not to mention, you get many more health benefits with this version. Coconut is chock full of healthy fats. Bananas, strawberries, and grapefruit are all loaded down with vitamins and minerals that help our body feel its best.
Combined with a few tablespoons of raw honey, this frozen dessert is perfectly sweet with the added health properties of raw honey.

Strawberry Grapefruit Ice Cream
- 2 frozen bananas sliced
- 1 (15 oz) can coconut milk
- Juice and zest of 1 grapefruit
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 3 tablespoons raw honey
Put the bananas, coconut milk, and grapefruit juice and zest in a blender. Blend until smooth and add the strawberries and honey. Continue blending until smooth.
Transfer the mixture to an airtight, freezer-safe container. Freeze overnight, or until firm. Scoop and serve
