Chances are – if it’s just a standard brand – there’s some sketchy ingredients. Whether it’s unhealthy oils, sugar, or preservatives, these are things that we want to avoid when following the Paleo diet.
Thankfully, we don’t have to give up all trail mix. There are ways to make this popular snack choice much healthier and nourishing.
Peanuts and chocolate get an overhaul with this healthy, nutritious trail mix. With the added antioxidant boost from dried spices, you’ll be glad you made the switch.
Paleo Trail Mix
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 1 cup Pistachios
- 1/2 cup Raisins
- 1/2 cup Goji berries
- 1/2 cup Sunflower seeds
- 1 teaspoon Chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Sea salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Put all of the ingredients in a plastic bag and shake until well coated. Lay on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, stir, and continue baking for 10 more minutes.

Allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
