I know, I know…this recipe isn’t strictly Paleo. We have been publishing Paleo content for over five years, and we’re still huge believers in the power of a Paleo lifestyle.
But we know interests are changing as well. You have probably noticed that we’ve got more keto – and just foundational nutrition and lifestyle – articles here as well recently. And we’ve got great feedback on these types of posts. So we’re rolling with it.
If you follow a Paleo diet, but choose to include dairy occasionally, most people would consider that to be “Primal.” For the record, I don’t particularly care what you label it. Just saying that you eat real food is perfectly acceptable 🙂
But if you like the labels, then Paleo + the addition of high-quality dairy is known by many as a primal lifestyle.
Full fat dairy definitely – like this raw feta – has a solidified place on the keto diet. This keto diet food guide is helpful if you need to know what is and isn’t considered keto-friendly.
Whatever type of approach you choose to take to nutrition, if you can tolerate dairy, I’d definitely recommend trying this recipe. Feta is deliciously salty and crumbly and when marinated in good olive oil, with garlic and herbs, it is absolutely divine.
My mouth waters just thinking about it.

Marinated Raw Feta
Ingredients
- 8 ounces raw feta cheese sliced into 1/2” slabs
- 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic smashed
- 2 sprigs fresh mint
- 2 sprigs fresh oregano
- 1 lemon juiced
- 1 teaspoon whole peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
Instructions

Lay the cheese in a shallow container. Add the remaining ingredients, making sure the cheese is covered by the oil.

Cover and refrigerate for several hours, but up to 3 days. Serve at room temperature.
