The big news out this week is that Kim Kardashian – as part of her post-pregnancy fitness routine, incorporated segments from intermittent fasting and the keto diet.
Whether or not you’re a KK fan, if you’re interested in the keto diet, it’s a great way to start getting healthy and many people find it helpful to lose weight (for a ton of success stories, check /r/keto on reddit).
Keto Diet Basics
The keto diet is pretty simple (and very similar to the paleo diet).
You focus is on eating fruits, vegetables, meats and eggs – with minimal carbs (less than 20g/day). Keto generally recommends you eat a lot of fat – as it’s more satiating and a slower-burning source of fuel than carbs. Keto dieters generally experience less hungeras well, since you’re not having to deal with blood-sugar and insulin spikes like many people do when they eat high-carbohydrate diets.

What Kim Kardashian Says about the Keto Diet
In her app, Kim’s sister Kourtney said
“Once I knew the ground rules, I was very strict and really stuck to it,” she wrote on her app. “I ate minimal carbs and no grains, beans, or legumes. Instead, I focused my meals on fresh vegetables and lean proteins.” And, that’s not all…
We’ll be honest – we’re not 100% supporters of Kim, but the keto diet is heads and shoulders better than body wraps 0r teas that are sometimes promoted by insta-famous celebrities.
The keto diet is backed by tons of scientific research and shares many of the same principles as the paleo diet – which has been used by celebrities and athletes for a variety of health + performance factors.
