Ready to spice things up in your life? These chili roasted cashews will most definitely do the trick.
Sure, regular raw almonds or cashews are great. Just pop a few in your mouth when you’re feeling a bit hungry and you’re good to go. They pack some healthy fats and a bit of protein. And it’s easy as can be.
But let’s all be honest for a second…sometimes, that can get a bit…bland.
I truly think the key to any sustainable nutrition approach is keeping things varied and exciting. I would venture a guess that no one – ever – wants to eat the same exact thing day after day after day for their whole entire lives.
So having a few hacks that you can implement easily in the kitchen is one of your greatest tools. And in most cases, spices can do the trick. Just take these chili roasted cashews as an example.
This recipe is also the easiest of easy. All you need are some cashews (duh), light olive oil, chili powder, honey, and a lime for some tangy lime juice.
The easiest way to season your nuts?? Put all of those ingredients into a Ziploc bag and give it a good shake. Spread them evenly onto a baking sheet. Make sure to give the nuts enough room on the baking sheet – as to not crowd them.
Stick them to roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until the are golden and fragrant. They’ll be smoking hot when you pull them out of the oven so be sure to give them lots of time to cool before you start popping any into your mouth.
Now, if you want to save these for later, we recommend storing them in an airtight container like a Mason jar. Trust me, they’re so delicious they won’t last for long though.
As a bonus, you can totally use these to give texture and flavor to soups, salads, or stir-fry. The possibilities are endless here, so go crazy.
