Over the next 4 to 5 weeks I’m going to be posting my reviews of various Onnit supplements.
Onnit is pretty much the only company I buy supplements from and I love their focus on quality, earth-grown ingredients.
Here are the various products I’m planning on reviewing over the next couple weeks:
- Onnit’s Alpha Brain Review
- Onnit’s New Mood Review
- Onnit’s Krill Oil review
- Onnit’s Dolce Whey Review
- Onnit’s Hemp Force Review
Keep in mind, all supplement reviewed are from my own personal experience. I personally try all of these and will let you know if I continue using them throughout. Got all that out of the way? Let’s get started.
Table of Contents
To get started, what is New Mood?
New Mood is a nootropic. Like Alpha Brain, a nootropic is like a drug for your brain.
Unlike other Nootropics, New Mood isn’t meant to help you focus – but help you relax a bit. In that sense, like it’s name, it’s a “mood drug.”
What Does New Mood Do?
Onnit describes New Mood as a “smile in a bottle”.
In slightly more technical terms – New Mood is designed to help you relax a little and wind down.
It produces serotonin (the chemical in your brain responsible for your “happy” feeling) and includes other herbs & important elements designed to calm you and improve your overall mood.
What Are The Key Ingredients in New Mood?
All right – let’s get down to brass tax. What’s inside New Mood?
5-HTP is a byproduct of LTrytophan. It’s also one of the main building blocks for serotonin (the chemical that affects your mood).
Valerian Root Extract
Valerian is a root and the extract is made from the root of the herb. It’s used in a wide-variety of diagnoses that involve sleep.
Chamomile Flower Extract
Chamomile is a flower who’s extract is commonly used as a sleep aid & slightly induce sleep. You’ve probably seen “chamomile tea’ around which is another variation of this.
Lemon Balm Leaf Extract
Lemon balm is common plant part of the mint family which has been used to treat restlessness and insomnia.
Jujube Seed Extract
The jujube seed is a seed from china commonly used to help with restlessness.
This is the vitamin (and the only kind) that your body manufactures from sunlight. It’s been known to help boost mood (and if you live in a place that has winter months, you’re probably not getting enough of it!).
Vitamin B-3 (Niacin) &Vitamin B-6
Natural vitamins found in your everyday foods.
Magnesium is a natural element found you in body and many of the foods you eat. It’s often used to promote relaxation and better sleep.
How Do You “Take” New Mood
New Mood comes in a 30 capsule bottle. It’s designed for you to take 2 capsules per “serving” so one container has 15 servings.
How Much Does New Mood Cost?
New Mood costs $29.95 for a 30-count bottle. You can buy a larger 90-count bottle for $71.88.
Is It Worth It? Does It Make A Difference?
When I first started using New Mood, I used 2 capsules about 30 minutes before I went to sleep.
I felt relaxed and I definitely did notice a difference. But, I didn’t like the idea of “taking pills” to go to sleep. New Mood is NOT the same as sleeping pills and i KNEW that, but I still didn’t like the idea of taking “pills” before sleep.
I stopped that a couple months ago, but I still use New Mood regularly. Now, I take only 1 capsule at a time at points in the day when I feel myself getting wound up a bit and need to de-stress.
My goal isn’t to fall asleep or pass out instantly, but simply to hopefully boost serotonin, take a step back, relax for a second and then get started again. I think that it does a great job at that.
Where To Buy New Mood
You can get New Mood at Onnit’s store. The direct link is here.
New Mood is worth a try. I’m not going to say it’s right for everyone, but if you’re a high-strung, top-performer who works a lot and finds yourself constantly stressed (and have a hard time winding down), it’s worth trying New Mood out in small doses and seeing what works for you. You might like it!
