Congrats to our friends over at Primal Kitchen!
On November 29th, the Kraft Heinz Company agreed to aquire Primal Kitchen for $200 million – a deal to be completed in early 2019. As I’m sure you know, Kraft Heinz is famous for its ketchup and various condiments. They also own Miracle Whip.
This move by Kraft Heinz to buy Primal Kitchen can be seen as a way for the company to compete with society’s demand to have high-quality products with safe ingredients on store shelves.
It’s about time this all went mainstream, am I right?
Primal Kitchen was founded by our good friend Mark Sisson who started the Primal Kitchen blog over a decade ago. It didn’t take him long to become a mainstay in the Paleo world – blogging and educating people all about the power of real foods.
Naturally, that led him to create a product line – mainstay pantry essentials for people who were no longer satisfied with the artificial and processed options at their local grocery store.
As he says on his site, his food is “Nothing processed or artificial, no added sugars, partially hydrogenated or trans fats, soybean or canola oils. No more artificial flavors, colors, dyes, waxes or chemical preservatives. Just. Real. Food.”
Obviously, this is why we love Primal Kitchen. Have you tried their Ranch dressing. It’s THE BEST.
The part we love about this story is that Mark Sisson is still going to be “manning the helm” (as he said) for Primal Kitchen. This merger with Kraft Heinz is a way to reach even more customers than ever before.
If you’re reading this blog, chances are your life has been impacted by living a Paleo lifestyle. Now that Primal Kitchen products will have an even greater reach, we have our fingers crossed that it will open the eyes of so many other people who have yet to find this empowering and fulfilling way to live.
We can’t wait to see what’s in store next for one of our favorite Paleo brands!
