Yes, bacon is awesome! But as awesome as it is, you have to keep your guard up.
Sugar is a common additive to bacon (look out for any ingredient with “-ose” at the end, such as dextrose), and making sure your bacon is nitrate-free should go without saying. For awesome UPG-approved bacon, check out U.S. Wellness Meats.
Now that my bacon disclaimer is out of the way…this recipe is delicious!
Breakfast Apple Hash
Servings 2
Calories 3 kcal
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs (beaten)
- 2 slices bacon (cut into small strips)
- 1 Apple (peeled and chopped)
- 5 Walnut ( halves)
- 1 tbs Grass fed butter
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon (or more as preferred)
Instructions

In a large skillet, scramble the eggs in the butter and remove.

Add bacon to the skillet and cook until just about done. Add the apple pieces and cook with the bacon until the apple is slightly soft.

Crush the walnuts and add to the bacon and apple.

Return the eggs to the skillet and stir all ingredients together. Add the cinnamon to the mixture and stir a few times.
