   This is a good tool, but misleading about the bacon that many paleo “lifestyler’s” such as myself consume, which is uncured (salt or sugar cured) and chemical free. Aldi’s. sells an apple-wood smoked bacon with 0 sugars. I don’t want the general public who may consider the paleo lifestyle to run in fear of bacon!

     Hi Michelle, I think they were trying to represent the 500 calories of added sugar people are eating on a daily basis with how much bacon an individual would have to consume to eat the equivalent calories. Not trying to show how much sugar is in bacon. They probably used that because most people consider bacon a high calorie food.

       Correct – they’re showing the caloric equivalent of sugar. It’s a non-paleo focused infographic that’s focused on showing how bad sugar is. That said – even if you’re 100% paleo – you probably shouldn’t be consuming 10 pieces of bacon / day! 🙂

     I believe you misread the infographic. It’s stating the caloric equivalent of sugar and using the calorie quantity in bacon as a reference, not disparaging bacon (or distinguishing between the types of bacon).
