Filling
6applesany variety, cored and thinly sliced
1/2cupdried cranberries
2teaspoonscinnamon
1/2teaspooncardamom
1/4teaspoonground ginger
1/8teaspoonnutmeg
1/4teaspoonsea salt
2tablespoonsmaple syrup
Juice of 1 lemon
Topping
1/2cupalmonds
1/2cupwalnuts
1/2cuppecans
1/2cupunsweetened coconut flakes
1teaspooncinnamon
1/2teaspoonground ginger
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1tablespoonmaple syrup
6tablespoonsbutter or coconut oilsolid
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine the filling ingredients in large bowl and stir well. Let sit for a few minutes while you make the topping.
To make the topping, put all of the ingredients in a food processor. Pulse until crumbly — be careful not to overdo it.
Spread the apple filling in square baking dish and top with the topping.
Bake for 45-55 minutes until topping is brown and apples are bubbly. Keep a close eye here - bake times will vary based on individual oven temperatures.
Let cool slightly before serving.
