I am sure you are wondering how I am going to pull this recipe off. I mean the four ingredients in the title are all delicious options… by themselves… But combining them? That’s just madness.
Well then, welcome to my mad world or, shall I say, kitchen? Either way, I oddly recall making this recipe this past fall while I was on my contest prep diet where I closely abided by a strict diet. Knowing my allotted macros and which ‘clean’ ingredients I could work with, I came up with this dish.
This is a very well-rounded breakfast that is packed with 20 grams of protein, 21g of carbs, and 7g of fat . It's yet another new way to eat your eggs. ...

How To Bake The Perfect Sweet Potato
Oh sweet potatoes! If you hang around, you’ll see a fair few recipes involving this spud. Sweet potatoes are high in antioxidants, vitamins A and C, potassium, calcium, and fiber. Best of all, they taste like a sweet treat. Sweet potatoes are my go-to tasty carb source and I eat them nearly every day.
This is how the sweet potato is baked in our house:
Perfect Baked Sweet Potatoes
1-8 Sweet potatoesSeasonings * ((optional))
Preheat oven to 430 degrees.Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil (this will make the clean up a snap).Don't forget get to wash those bad boys! Remember, they grow underground and there’s dirt in ...

Sweet Potato Pancakes with Bacon
I’ve realized that one cannot go wrong with pancakes for breakfast… or for any other meal for that matter. There are so many different types: low- or high-carb, high in protein, fruity, chocolate, savory, nut butter, and plain but NEVER boring.
A blender is not absolutely necessary to make these but I prefer using one to ensure that the batter is smooth. Using a blender also adds extra air into the batter, which makes it nice and fluffy!
Instead of topping the pancakes with a sugary syrup, opt for a couple of strips of crumbled bacon to make yourself a savory and lower carb treat. Crunchy bacon is delicious compliment to the ...

Apple Cider Butter Dressing
Don’t let the name fool you. There is NO butter in this dressing. Well, no animal butter at least. The butter I am talking about comes from sesame seeds (tahini) and sunflower seeds. But “Apple Cider Sesame Seed and Sunflower Seed Butter Salad Dressing” wasn’t such a catchy title.
There is no need to add any oil when you use these butters. That’s a bonus in my book. This was the first time I'd ever bought tahini and sunflower seed butter, but I’m pleased with the idea and final product.
I think I might also try this as a sauce on my tilapia, as it will mask the fishy taste. I’ll let you know how that turns out. In the mean time, I will ...

Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus
Bacon-wrapped anything is usually popular among paleo peeps. Am I right?
Now, with that said, I eat bacon in moderation. Though this tasty pork cut is considered a meat and meats tend to be thought of as proteins, I tend to classify bacon as a fat. Most bacons (minimally processed, nitrate-free) will yield a 1:1 ratio of fat:protein. So, if you’re looking to consume 25g of protein in your meal and you make bacon your protein source, you should account for 25g of fat.
So the combination of bacon (fat) and asparagus (healthy carbohydrate) is perfect. I mean opposites attract, right? Try pairing this with grilled chicken or a medium-rare ...

Egg, Spinach & Bacon Breakfast Bowl
My first attempt at making a morning breakfast bowl using bacon as the bowl was a success! This recipe is low-carb, gluten-free, paleo-friendly, and so easy to make.
I removed the three yolks, since I was already getting a good amount of fat from the bacon. Mmmm, bacon! I ate these right after baking them, however, I’m sure they would refrigerate/freeze well if you wanted to save a muffin or two for later.

Orange Vinaigrette
Why go through the effort of making a nutritious salad and proceed to ruin it by dumping a preservative-and-calorie-packed dressing on it? I’ve found that making your own dressing is rather easy. This orange vinaigrette is a refreshing citrus dressing. This recipe follows a ratio of 2:1:1, so it is easy to double or make with different measuring tools, e.g. a tablespoon.
Orange Vinaigrette
4 ounces Orange juice2 ounces Apple cider vinegar2 ounces olive oil
Combine all ingredients in a cute serving dish.Drizzle over salad and chow down!Refrigerate extra dressing and use within the week. Stir before reserving, as the ...

Spinach Scramble with A Side of Steamed Veggies
Welcome to a regular meal of mine. I eat variations of this scramble every darn day. No Joke. I don’t know about bout you, but eggs are more than just a breakfast stable in my world, as I will eat them any time of day.
So why is it I eat more egg whites than whole eggs? Eggs whites are an athlete’s best friend. Believe it or not, apart from whey protein, egg whites are one of the best absorbing proteins you can eat. A single egg white contains about 3 g of high quality protein and about 15 calories. Egg white also contains all eight of the essential amino acids, vitamins such as A, E, K, B12, riboflavin, and folic acid. All of ...
